Inner_Void
Inner_Void is a project that focuses on inclusion and safety in the workplace. We wanted to find ways to help professionals deal with the tensions between who they really are and their work roles. During our research, we saw that these tensions often arise when enforcing rules and caring for clients.
Proces:
Over eight weeks, we held in-depth interviews and networking sessions with people from different professions. Each conversation gave us new insights and helped us improve our ideas. We found that professionals often get stuck because of internal conflicts, like the pressure to meet expectations and stay true to their own values.
Challenge:
One big challenge was getting professionals to step out of their comfort zones. Many avoided confrontations because they were afraid of the consequences for their position or relationships. So, we focused on creating a safe space for open conversations.
Solution:
We developed a toolkit that helps professionals reflect on themselves and encourages them to discuss difficult, often unspoken topics. This toolkit uses participatory techniques and fun elements, like a ball game that brings out honest answers and avoids socially acceptable responses.
Result:
The intervention was successful in promoting deeper conversations among professionals, allowing tensions in the workplace to be discussed more openly. This research provided valuable insights into how we can help professionals change their behavior and how a safe space can support open communication.
